When all internal disk drives have been installed and connected, close your computer

Connecting Disk Drives to SATA RAID Controllers

Install your SATA disk drives, following the instructions in your system’s documentation.
There are no jumpers or switches to set on the SATA controller or disk drives.

Connect each disk drive to a SATA port on the controller using a recommended SATA
cable. For cable information, see

on page 15
.

When all internal disk drives have been installed and connected, close your computer
cabinet, and reattach the power cord.
Continue by either setting the boot controller (see
page 42
) or by installing the controller
driver on an existing operating system (see
page 54
), depending on the type of installation
you are completing.
Connecting Disk Drives to SCSI RAID Controllers

For each controller channel, set the SCSI ID of each disk drive to a unique number
between 0 and 15.
The controller is set to ID 7 by default. Although not recommended, you can change the
controller ID by using the ICP RAID Configuration utility (see
page 83
).
Note:
Do not
change the controller ID unless absolutely necessary.
