Maintenance instructions
SAM600 modules are self-supervising. If a SAM600 module experiences a
problem it will store the information in the event log. It is advisable to read the
contents of the SAM600 module’s event log during regular intervals and to back-
up the information in case a later analysis should be necessary.
In case of a serious malfunction, the SAM600 module tries to clear the problem by
restarting and re-initializing itself several times until it waits in startup mode.
Information about clearing attempts is also logged as system events. If the situation
cannot be cleared the SAM600 module will block its operation and indicate the
error by steady light on the HMI (see
Section
). The cause of the error is
described in a SAM600 event log.
Servicing of SAM600 module
In case of SAM600 module maintenance, ensure that safety instructions and
cabling verification according to
are followed.
SAM600 modules in operation can heat up to the ambient
temperature in the mounted kiosk. Ensure that the surface of
SAM600 module has cooled down to room temperatures.
Before servicing a SAM600 module, visually inspect that no wires
connecting to SAM600 modules have loosened.
Replacing a SAM600 module
In case a SAM600 module is damaged it must be replaced. Follow the steps for
dismounting the SAM600 module as described in
Section
Contact an ABB representative for replacement or repair handling
instructions.
Before dismounting a SAM600 module make sure to de-energize all
equipment connected to the SAM600 module’s analog connectors.
Make sure that the SAM600 module’s power supply and digital
input connection are removed and the module is electrically
isolated.
