Replacing SMB battery

Use this procedure to replace the SMB battery.

Information

Action

DANGER

Turn off all:

•

electric power supply

•

hydraulic pressure supply

•

air pressure supply

to the robot, before entering the robot working area.

ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD)

Before handling the unit, see

The unit is sensitive

to ESD on page 24

Open the cover on the SMB box.

CAUTION

Clean cover from metal residues before opening.
Metal residues can cause shortage on the boards
which can result in hazardous failures.

Pull out the

battery

and disconnect the battery

cable.

Fit the new

battery

and connect the battery cable.

Close the SMB box.

Calibration on page 73

Update the revolution counters.

See

Environmental information on

page 91

Dispose of the old battery.
