6.3 Programming the Converter
After the power to the instrument is turned on a number of self-check routines are automatically executed.
Subsequently, the Standard-Display (process information) appears. The configuration of the display can be
defined by the user.
6.3.1 Data Entry
The data is entered in various languages using the keys on the converter.
It is also possible using the Magnetic Stick to configure the converter without opening the converter housing.
During data entry the converter remains online, i.e. the current and pulse outputs continue to indicate the
actual instantaneous process values. The functions of the individual keys are described below:
Operation of the ENTER Function during Magnet Stick Operation
The ENTER-Function is activated when the DATA/ENTER-Sensor is actuated for more than 2 seconds.
The display blinks to indicate that the function is active.
Data entry is divided into two types of entries:
• Direct numeric entries
• Entries from a predefined table

Attention!
When the housing cover is removed, the EMC and personnel contact protection are voided.
C/CE The C/CE-key is used to toggle back and forth between the operating mode and the
menu.
STEP Use STEP to scroll forward through the menu.
With the STEP arrow key all desired parameters can be accessed.
DATA Use DATA to scroll backward through the menu.
With the DATA arrow key all desired parameters can be accessed.
ENTER The ENTER-Function is activated by simultaneously pressing STEP and DATA. The
program protection can be turned on or off using ENTER. In addition, ENTER is used
to open the parameter to be accessed and ENTER is used to accept the new value.
The ENTER-Function is activated when the DATA/ENTER-Sensor is actuated for
more than 2 seconds.

Attention
During data entry the values are checked for plausibility and rejected with an appropriate message if unac-
ceptable.
