Aztec 600
Manganese
Formaldoxime Based on the red / orange complex formed
between formaldoxime and Manganese in a
suitably buffered solution.
1. Rinse cell with sample.
2. Bring in sample.
3. Measure background absorbance.
4. Bring in Buffer reagent.
5. Bring in formaldoxime color reagent.
6. Wait for 2 minutes.
7. Bring in Iron complexing reagent.
8. Mix with air.
9. Wait 5 minutes for color to develop.
10. Measure final absorbance.

Manganese
Low Range
Malachite
Green
Based on the malachite green triphenyl dye
which is formed in an oxidation reaction involving
manganese and leucomalachite green.
1. Rinse cell with sample.
2. Bring in preconditioner to remove chlorine interference.
3. Bring in sample.
4. Wait for 30 seconds.
5. Measure background absorbance.
6. Bring in bring in buffer/oxidant.
7. Wait 5 minutes.
8. Bring in color forming reagent.
9. Mix with air.
10. Wait 3 minutes for color to develop.
11. Measure final absorbance.
Aztec 600
Phosphate
Phosphomoly-
bdenum Blue
Based on the yellow complex formed between
molybdate and phosphate. The reducing agent
then modifies this complex to give the
phosphomolybdenum blue color.
1. Rinse with sample.
2. Bring in Acid Molybdate reagent.
3. Bring in sample.
4. Measure background absorbance.
5. Wait 1 minute 30 seconds.
6. Bring in reducing agent.
7. Mix with air.
8. Wait for 11 minutes for color to develop.
9. Measure final absorbance.
