Configuring a local signal destination on ISDN
The event messages are displayed in PC format.
The
Local output interface
must be set on
IP destination
in the Fault & Maintenance
Manager.
The following parameters need to be selected or entered in the Fault & Mainte-
nance Manager:
• Destination: PPP via ISDN communication protocol
• Call number of the local signal destination (the call number is not checked by
the system, if the entered call number is incorrect, the system will issue the
event message

• IP address of the PC if the communication server is to connect with the PC via an
ISDN gateway.
If the communication server is to connect with the PC without ISDN gateway,
the
IP address
entry should remain empty.
• TCP port number (the default value is 1062; if the value is changed in the SEM, it
will have to be altered accordingly on the communication server side.)
• User name and password of the dial-up networking of the PC or ISDN gateway,
to gain access via the TA or the ISDN gateway to the PC with the SEM.
Configuring a local signal destination on an Ethernet interface
A PC (with the System Event Manager) connected either directly to the Ethernet in-
terface or to the communication server via a LAN (LAN connection) can be config-
ured as the local signal destination.
The event messages are displayed in PC format.
The

• Destination: Ethernet
• IP address of the PC
• TCP port number (the default value is 1062; if the value is changed in the SEM, it
