certificate

shall
constitute
a guarantee
and
agreement
between

Corporation
and
the
owner
as follows:
If within
ONE
year
after
original
installation
of the
A.
0.
Smith
hydronic
boiler,
any
part
or portion
shall
prove
upon
examination
by
the
Corporation
to
be
defective
in
material
or
workmanship,
the
Corporation,
at
its
option,
will
repair
or exchange
such
part
or
portion.
If within
TEN
years
after
the
original
installation
of the
boiler,
the
heat
exchanger,
coil
or gas
burner
shall
prove
upon
examination
by
the
Corporation
to
be
defective
in
material
or workmanship
or damaged
by
thermal
shock,
the
Corporation,
at
its
option,
will
repair
or
exchange
such
part
or
portion.
(THIS
TEN
YEAR
TERM
IS
REDUCED
TO
FlVE
YEARS
WHEN
=THE
BOILER
IS
USED
FOR
HOT
WATER
SUPPLY
PURPOSES.)
The
repaired
or
exdhanged
original
parts
will
be
covered
by
a guarantee
extension,
on the
part,
sufficient
to
cover
the
unexpired
portion
of the
original
guarantee.
All
guarantees,are
without
effect
and
void
if
unfiltered,
reclaimed
water
is
circulated
through
or stored
in
the
boiler.
This
guarantee
applies
to the
boiler
only
if
it
is
installed
in
accordance
with
applicable
local
codes,
ordinances,
good
trade
practices
and
when
the
boiler
has
been
operated
only
(a)
with
potable
water
circulating
through
or
stored
in
the
boiler.
Use
a separately
in-
stalled
hea
exchanger
for
indirect
heating
of salt
water
or corrosive
chemicals.
(b)
when
completely
full
of
liquid
free
to
circulate
at all
times;
(c)
at water
pressures
not
exceeding
the
pressure
rating
shown
on the
boiler;
(d)
with
a listed
ASME
rated
relief
valve
of
adequate
capacity
not
exceeding
pressures
permitted
by
local
codes
and
maximlim
pressure
of
160
psi.
(e)
at temperatures
not
exceeding
the
maximum
setting
of
the
operating
and/or
high
limit
control;
:
(f)
with
heat
exchanger
and
coil
free
of scale
deposit;
(g)
in non-corrosive
atmospheres;
(h)
at firing
rates
not
exceeding
the
rated
capacity
of the
specific
model;
(i)
with
installation
in conformity
with
the
A.
O.
SMITH
Corporation
installation
instruc-
tions
applicable
to
the
specific
model.
Any
accident
to the
boiler,
any
misuse,
abuse
(including
freezing)
or alteration
of
it
or
any
operation
of
it
in
a modified
form,
will
void
this
guarantee.
NO
OTHER
GUARANTEE
OR
WARRANTY,
EITHER
EXPRESS
OR
IMPLIED
(INCLUD-
ING,
BUT
NOT
LIMITED
TO,
A
WARRANTY
OF
MERCHANTABILITY),
IS
MADE
IN
BEHALF
OF
THE
CORPORATION
WITH
RESPECT
TO
THE
BOILER.
THE
CORPORA-
TION
SHALL
NOT
SE
LIABLE
BY
VIRTUE
OF
THIS
GUARANTEE
OR
OTHERWISE
FOR
DAMAGE
TO
ANY
PERSONS
OR
PROPERTY.
AII
replacements
shall
be
F.O.B.
point
of
shipment
and
the
Corporation
shall
not
be
liable
for
drayage,
labor
or
installation
costs.
