These two models are equipped from the factory with different 

controls.
In this Instruction Manual, one model is factory equipped with 

a surface mounted thermostat/ECO combination control and is 

referred to as a 

surface-mount control

 model.

The other model is equipped with an electronic control system 

and is referred to as an 

electronic control model

.
