Chapter 3: Access Point Confi guration

Dynamic Key Exchange

Dynamic key management requires the installation of the 3e-030

Security Server software which resides on a self-contained workstation

connected to the 3e–525A–3 over the WAN port. The Security Server soft-

ware confi guration includes: obtaining a root certifi cate from a Certifi cate

Authority (CA) like Microsoft; obtaining user certifi cates based on the CA

which will be used by the clients; and confi guring the 3e Technologies

International's Security Server software with the appropriate root certifi -

cate. The Security Server software application is discussed in a separate

manual.

If you have installed the Security Server software, Dynamic Key

Management is the preferred security setup. Confi gure the IP address

and password of the security server and set the key type. Key type will be

either 3DES (192-bit), or AES (128-bit, 192-bit or 256-bit). Thereafter, the

Security Server handles authentication dynamically.

Once you have selected the options you will use, click

Apply

If you have the 3e–525A–3 confi gured in non-FIPS mode, the security

screens will look a bit different.
