The root ID portion of the CBPDU determines which bridge will be the root
bridge. The bridges transmit their CBPDUs, receive each other’s CBPDUs, and
compare the CBPDUs to each other. Because Bridge B has the lowest root ID
of all the bridges, it becomes the root. See Figure 5-8.
