This command displays the following:
INPUT COUNTERS
■
Octets
— Number of bytes received.
■
Ucast
— Number of Unicast packets received.
■
MultiCast
— number of multicast packets received.
■
BroadCast
— Number of broadcast packets received.
■
Discards
— Number of inbound packets that were chosen to be
discarded even though no errors had been detected to prevent their
being deliverable to a higher-layer protocol. One possible reason for
discarding such a packet could be to free up buffer space.
■
Errors
— For packet-oriented interfaces, the number of inbound
packets that contained errors preventing them from being deliverable
to a higher-layer protocol. For character-oriented or fixed-length
interfaces, the number of inbound transmission units that contained
errors preventing them from being deliverable to a number of inbound
transmission units that contained higher-layer protocol.
■
Unknown Prot
— Number of unknown protocols in packet.
OUTPUT COUNTERS
■
Octets
— Number of bytes transmitted.
■
Ucast
— Number of Unicast packets transmitted.
■
MultiCast
— Number of multicast packets transmitted.
■
BroadCast
— Number of broadcast packet transmitted.
■
Discards
— Number of outbound packets that were chosen to be
discarded even though no errors had been detected to prevent their
being transmitted. One possible reason for discarding such a packet
could be to free up buffer space.
■
Errors
— For packet-oriented interfaces, the number of outbound
packets that could not be transmitted because of errors. For
character-oriented or fixed-length interfaces, the number of outbound
transmission units that could not be transmitted because of errors.
■
Out QLen
— Length of the output packet queue (in packets).
