Software Updates from a USB Key

Software updates for the system may be issued from time to time providing product

enhancements. The server’s operating system and application programs can be updated by

the user from a USB Flash Drive distributed by 360 Systems. The current software version is

determined by looking in the GUI

Help>About

dialog box.

To install a program update, follow these instructions. Please read them completely before

beginning.
CAUTION: This procedure requires the server to be offline for the duration of the update.

Discontinue all record, play, network transfer or system-level operations.

With power applied, insert a 360 Systems USB Flash Drive into a USB a socket.

Shutdown the server from the GUI by going to Start > Shutdown or by pressing the

front panel power switch briefly to shutdown the server.

Wait 5 seconds, then press the front panel power switch to boot from the USB Flash

Drive.

The Installer menu provides a choice to Update the server operating system, begin a

new complete install, or cancel the install.



Choose UPDATE if you want to keep the video and audio clip files that exist

on the server. Use this selection for all normal software updates.



Choose NEW Installation only if you want to partition and reformat the drive

array, and install the new operating system.
