HomePlug AV
This chapter introduces the main applications and management of the powerline feature.
8.1 Overview
The PLA450 is a HomePlug AV compliant powerline Ethernet adapter. The PLA450 and
other HomePlug AV powerline adapters in your network communicate with each other by
sending and receiving information over your home’s electrical wiring.
The PLA450 plugs into an ordinary outlet to create a new network which can extend to any
other electrical outlet in any room of a house.
The following section shows you a typical application. Computers
A and B use HomePlug AV
powerline adapters and the building’s electrical wiring to connect to the PLA450 C and access
the Internet through broadband modem D .
