O&M
The OB06 provides powerful O&M functions to implement management
and maintenance of OB06 equipment. The functions fall into three parts:

Parameter configuration
•
Alarm and status reporting
•
Online software loading
Parameter Configuration
It supports OB06 parameter configuration by the BSC.
Figure 60 shows the parameter configuration process.

CIP software
CMM board receives messages from BSC through Base-station Interface
Equipment (BIE) using LAPD. It forwards these messages to the
application process. The CMM configuration process processes the
configuration messages and implements the OB06 static data configuration.
It distributes the BSC parameters and configures the data through HDLC
to the TRM board FUC software that CMM manages. After receiving the
configuration message from the CMM software, the FUC software
configures the board attributes. At the same time, it notifies CMM software
with the successful configuration message, and configures the CHP and
CIP.
