Winterizing
When closing the pool for the winter, perform the following additional steps to winterize your
Zodiac EZ SALT Chlorine Generating Device.
1. Turn off the power to the EZ SALT Chlorine Generating Device and pump by unplugging the
EZ SALT Chlorine Generating Device from the wall.
2. Unplug the electrode plug from the top of the cell. Coil the wires and wrap them and the plug
in a plastic bag to prevent corrosion over the winter. Tape the bag to the power pack.
3. Disconnect the cell from the plumbing by unscrewing the small ribbed plastic nuts. Unthread
the large ribbed plastic nut on the top of the cell housing and carefully withdraw the electrode.
Inspect the electrode for calcium deposits and clean if necessary (see “How to clean your
cell”). Store the cell housing and electrode indoors for the winter.
4. The power pack can remain outdoors for the winter or it can be easily be unhooked from the
mounting screws and brought indoors.
