J6 (Floppy Disk Controller Interface)
J6 is a surface mount connector location for an optional floppy disk controller interface. Contact
Ziatech for details. This interface is provided primarily for single board computer operation (without an
STD 32 backplane). STD 32 users should use the ZT 8954 Floppy Disk Controller Interface for floppy
support.
J7 (IDE Hard Disk Interface)
J7 is a 44-pin surface mount connector location to provide a local Integrated Drive Electronics (IDE)
hard disk interface. The pin assignments are given in the "J7 IDE Hard Disk Connector Pinout" table
below. The ZT 8905 can, as an option, have an IDE drive integrated with it (ordering option D1). This
option is useful for single board computer operation (no STD 32 backplane) or for STAR SYSTEM
operation where the hard disk interface is local to the ZT 8905.
