If you are upgrading your system cache memory, remove the
SIMM you are replacing by gently pulling the SIMM out of
the socket.

. Grasping a new SIMM by the edge, remove it from the
antistatic bag and press it into the socket.
Caution:
Static RAM is extremely sensitive to electrostatic discharge which can
permanently damage your equipment. Use an anti-static wrist strap
attached to cabinet ground. Be sure to ground yourself by touching the
system cabinet before beginning this procedure.

Reinstall system cover, plug in AC power, and turn on the
computer as you normally would.
6.
Make sure the External Cache option on the Memory
Control Menu of the Advanced System Setup Menu is
Enabled. Also check your system SETUP to be sure it hasn’t
changed. If any settings have changed, re-enter the correct
values and re-boot the system.
