8-3 Inspection
1) Metering Diaphragm
Check the metering diaphragm for damage and
stiffness. If necessary, replace it with a new
one.
Check that the convolution height of metering
diaphragm does not become flat. When
convolution height is flat, replace the metering
diaphragm with a new one.
2) Pump Diaphragm
Check the pump diaphragm for damage and
stiffness. If necessary, replace it with a new
one.
In particular, if the pulse receiving portion and
valve portions of the diaphragm are stiff,
replace it with a new one.
3) Inlet Valve Leaking Test
Connect the pressure gauge (special tool) to
the inlet port of the carburetor body assy. Apply
pressure to the inlet valve and read the
opening pressure and the reseating pressure.
Opening pressure:
1.3
~
2.3kgf/ cm
2
(127
~
226kPa)
Reseating pressure:
0.6
~
1.6kgf/ cm
2
(59
~
157kPa)
If the reading is out of the specified standard,
check the item "4) Metering Lever and Inlet
Valve".
