METHOD
Step 1
Preheat a waffle iron and spray with cooking spray.
Step 2
Whisk milk, eggs, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt together in a wide bowl until thoroughly
combined. Dip bread slices 1 at a time in the egg mixture, coating both sides completely. Lift bread with
a slotted spatula to allow excess egg mixture to drain back into the bowl. Place dipped bread slices on a
rimmed baking sheet and let rest until mixture soaks in, about 2 minutes.
Step 3
Place dipped bread in the preheated waffle iron. Gently close the lid without forcing it down. Cook until
golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Repeat with remaining slices.
BUTTERMILK WAFFLES
INGREDIENTS
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
2 cups low-fat buttermilk
1/3 cup melted butter
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
METHOD
Step 1
Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl until evenly combined. Whisk
buttermilk and butter together in a separate bowl; add eggs. Stir buttermilk mixture into flour mixture until
just combined and batter is slightly lumpy; add vanilla extract.

Preheat the waffle iron
Step 3
Pour enough batter into the preheated waffle iron to reach 1/2 inch from the edge.
MANITENANCE AND CLEANING
Disconnect the appliance from the mains and allow it to cool before undertaking any cleaning task.
