IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS CONCERNING OPERATIONAL SAFETY

– READ CAREFULLY AND RETAIN FOR FUTURE REFERENCE

Precautions to avoid possible exposure to microwave energy

1

Do not attempt to operate the microwave oven with the door open since this can result

in harmful exposure to microwave energy. It is strictly forbidden to break or tamper with the

safety interlocks.

2

Do not place any objects between the microwave oven front face and the door or allow

soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on the sealing surfaces.

3

Do not operate the microwave oven if it is damaged. It is particularly important that the

oven door close properly and there is no visible damage:

hinges and latches (no cracks or loosening),

door seals and sealing surfaces, or

“warping”.

4

The oven can be adjusted or repaired only by qualiied service personnel.

Important safety instructions

When  using  electrical  appliances,  observe  basic  safety  precautions.  In  order  to  reduce

the risk of burns, electric shock, ire, injury or exposure to microwave energy, observe the

following rules:

  Danger! / Warning!

Risk of injury

Use the appliance for its intended purpose only as described in this user manual.

Do not use corrosive chemicals or vapours in the appliance. This type of microwave

oven is speciically designed for heating, cooking and drying food. It is not designed

for industrial or laboratory purposes.

Never operate the microwave oven if it has a damaged power cord or plug, or if it is

not working properly or if it has been dropped or otherwise damaged.

If  the  non-detachable  power  cord  is  damaged,  it  should  be  replaced  by  the

manufacturer or at a specialist service centre or by a qualiied person in order to

avoid any hazards.

The appliance may only be repaired by qualiied service personnel. Improper repair

may result in a serious hazard to the user. In case of defects we suggest that you

contact a ZELMER specialist service centre.

When the oven door or its sealing is damaged, the oven may not be operated until it

has been repaired by a qualiied person.

Liquids and other foods must not be heated in tightly closed containers since this

may result in their explosion.

Microwave heating of beverages can result in delayed eruptive boiling, therefore take

care when handling the container. Do not fry foods in the oven. Hot oil may damage

the oven parts or accessories and even cause skin burns.

Do not heat eggs in the shell and whole hard-boiled eggs in the microwave oven as

they may explode – even after microwave heating has ended.

When the oven is turned on do not touch its accessible parts. Their

temperature may be high – risk of burns.

Stir  and  shake  the  content  of  feeding  bottles  and  baby  food  jars.  Check  the

temperature before consumption in order to avoid burns.

Kitchen utensils may become hot due to heat transmission from the heated food. Use

appropriate handles.

Microwave oven maintenance and repair work which involves removing the protective

cover against exposure to microwave energy is dangerous, therefore it must only be

performed by a qualiied person.

Children  above  8  years  old,  persons  with  impaired  physical,  sensory  or  mental

abilities, and those with lack of experience or knowledge may only use the appliance

under supervision or after they have been given instructions on possible hazards and

how to safely use the appliance. Prevent children from playing with the appliance.

Children above 8 years old may be allowed to clean the appliance and to perform

maintenance work under proper supervision only.

Do not remove the mica cover inside the microwave oven cavity! It protects against

radiation.

  Warning!

Risk of property damage

The microwave oven is designed to be used as a standalone unit and it should not

be placed in a cupboard.

Connect  the  microwave  oven  only  to  a  230  V  alternating  current  mains  socket

equipped with a grounding prong.

Do not operate the microwave oven when it is empty.

In order to reduce the risk of ire inside the microwave oven:

when heating food in a plastic or paper container, keep an eye on the microwave

oven due to the possibility of ignition,

remove all wire twist-ties from paper or plastic containers/ bags before placing

them in the microwave oven,

if smoke is observed, switch off or unplug the appliance. Do not open the door in

order to stile any lames,

do  not  leave  paper  products,  dishes  and  kitchen  utensils  or  food  inside  the

microwave oven when it is not in use.

When the appliance is operating the temperature of external surfaces may be high.

The power cord should be kept away from heated surfaces and it must not obstruct

any elements of the microwave oven.

During  use,  the  appliance  becomes  hot.  Care  should  be  taken  to  avoid  touching

heating elements inside the microwave oven.

It is forbidden to use a steam cleaner to clean the appliance.

This  appliance  is  not  intended  to  be  operated  by  means  of  an  external  timer  or

separate remote-control system.

It is strictly forbidden to remove the foil located on the inner side of the door. This may

cause damage to the appliance.
