Inserting reflector turret,
compensator mount 6x20 or
4-position modulator turret
Install or change the motorized reflector
turret or modulator turret only when
the microscope is switched off.
•
Loosen the locking screw (3-13/
1
). Pull out the
reflector turret (3-13/
6
) or the cover part, using
the grip recess (condition as delivered to
customer).
•
Insert compensator mount (3-13/
5
) or the
4-position modulator turret (3-13/
7
) manual or
motorized) into guide (3-13/

) on the top part
of the stand as far as it will go. Tighten the
clamping screw (3-13/

).
•
Attach reflector turret (3-13/

) to the guide

) in the top part of the stand and push it
in until it reliably (audibly) snaps in.

Tighten clamping screw (3-13/

).
•
If the reflector turret was supplied without
inserted reflector modules, insert them as
described in Section 3.19.
If the instrument is to be transported to another location, the reflector turret must be replaced
by the cover part provided with a grip recess.
3.12
Changing the DIC prism of the
modulator turret
•
Pull the modulator turret frontward out of the
stand and set it down.
•
Manually turn the turret disk until the desired
position is accessible in the opening (3-14/
3
)
from the top.
•
Screw out the retaining ring, using the dual-
function tool (3-14/
1
).
•
Now, screw the threaded side of the tool
(3-14/
1
) into the prism mount (3-14/
2
) and then
pull the DIC prism (3-14/
5
) out.
•
Remove the DIC prism from the tool and screw
on the new DIC prism desired.
•
Proceed in reverse order to install the DIC prism.
In so doing, make sure that the DIC prism is
correctly oriented. (Tongue 3-14/
4
must be
located in the recess of the mount provided in
the modulator turret.) Make sure the labelling
on the knurled ring of the turret disk is correct.
