Changing Back to Encoder Mode
Going from Decoder back to Encoder Mode is very similar to going from Encoder to Decoder Mode. A
reboot is required. The steps are listed below. The screenshots are left out. For detailed screenshots,
you can see steps (6) to (13).
(14)
Stop any decoding sessions that might be running on the Z3-HE4K-R.
(15)
Switch to “Encoder UltraHD” mode by changing “Operating Mode” in the lower right corner of the
GUI.
(16)
Once you do this, the System Setup tab will appear. In this tab, select “serial_menu” as the preset
at the bottom left of the GUI.
(17)
Once you see “serial_menu” appear on the presets, click on “Save”.
(18)
After you click on “Save”, a Window saying that a reboot is required for settings to take effect
appears. Click on “Ok” after seeing this. (Note: The very first time this is done, it can take up to
15 seconds for this window to appear).
(19)
After clicking “Ok”, power off the Z3-HE4K-R and power it back on.
(20)
After the green “ready” light comes up, retype the IP address of the Z3-HE4K-R into the browser.
You should then see the encoder settings come up with “serial_menu” as the preset being used
*Note:
It is important to retype the IP address (or to refresh the browser, or exit the browser and
reenter it). Not doing so could lead to stale data being used and unpredictable operation
.
(21)
Click on the “CH1” tab. You will see the settings for CH1 encode.
*Note:
In some cases some settings might not be filled in. If this is the case, simply select the
“encoder factory default” presets to restore all settings, and then change to the settings you wish
to use.
