RUNNING DECODE ON THE Z3-DME-02
This section gives step-by-step instructions on taking the Z3-DME-02 and using it to decode a stream from
the Ethernet. A source generating this stream (for example, another Z3-DME-02) is required.
6.1
Connect the Decoder
(1)
Use a BNC-to-BNC cable to connect “SDI/ASI Out” on the Z3-DME-02 to an SDI monitor or to “SDI In”
of an SDI->HDMI converter:
(2)
If you are using an SDI->HDMI converter, use an HDMI cable to connect “HDMI Out” of the converter
to “HDMI In” of a monitor.
(3)
Connect the Ethernet to a hub or router connected to the control PC and the streaming source.
(4)
Connect the 12V power to the Z3-DME-02
(5)
Power on the Decoder Z3-DME-02
6.2
Set up the Decoder Z3-DME-02 to work with the Encoder Z3-DME-02
(6)
If you are using another Z3-DME-02 as the encoding source, you need to make sure that the encoding
Z3-DME-02 and decoding Z3-DME-02 have different IP addresses. If you are using DHCP, this will
automatically be taken care of. If you are not using DHCP, you should set at least one of them to
use DHCP to ensure the addresses are different (see Section 5.9 on page 20 for details).
