6.3 Troubleshooting
The table hereunder states the causes and the solution of the failures.

Lamp does not energize
- Lamp defective
- Replace the lamp.
- The lamp is not connected to
the lead wire.
- Connect to the circuit.
- The connecting lead wire is not
connected to the isolating
transformer.
- Connect to the connector.

Failure

isolating
transformer or CCR

CCR

Transformer output with Am

Lamp looks faded in blue
or white color
- Lamp defective
- Replace the lamp.
When the light is dimmer
than other lights of the
same type
- Lamp defective
- Replace the lamp.
- Contamination of reflector,
lens or other related parts
- Clean the contaminated part
- The failure of the isolating
transformer

Replace
the
isolating
transformer.
- The dislocation of the color
filter or inadequate beam
angle of light
- Install the color filter on the
right location or re-setting
light angle
When the color of the
light is different from that
of other lights of the
same kind
- The breakage of the color
filter
- Replace the color filter
WARNING
To reduce the shutdown time of the runway or taxiway in case of a failure,
replace the entire light unit at first, and then replace the failed parts at the workplace.
