½ cup (125 mL) honey
•
½ cup (125 mL) brown sugar
•
½ cup (125 mL) fat free chicken broth
•
¼ cup (60 mL) rice wine vinegar
•
2 tsp (10 mL) cornstarch
•
2 tbsp (30 mL) cold water
1.
Season chicken with pepper and dredge in flour. Heat oil in large skillet
over medium-high heat. Sear chicken halves on both sides; place into slow
cooker.

In a bowl whisk together garlic, ginger, soy sauce, honey, brown sugar,
chicken broth and vinegar, until brown sugar dissolves. Pour over chicken.

Press button on slow cooker to LOW setting and cook covered for 5
hours, or until chicken is fully cooked.

Remove chicken to a cutting board, cool for 2 minutes. Cut pieces in half
and place on a serving platter. Meanwhile carefully transfer sauce to saucepan
over medium - high heat.

Mix cornstarch with cold water. Whisk into sauce and bring to a boil. Boil
for 30 seconds while whisking, until sauce thickens. Serve over chicken with
steamed rice or noodles.
