2.
Connect the TUNICS T100S-HP DB9 serial port to the wavemeter serial port.
3.
As the tunable laser acts as the controller device for the wavemeter, press the
2nd
+
Remote
function keys at the TUNICS T100S-HP front-panel and select:
RS-232 IN: [OFF]
4.
Start the Feedback function by pressing the
2nd
+
mW/dBm
keys.
5.
Enter the wavelength setting at the TUNICS T100S-HP front-panel.
•
The TUNICS T100S-HP executes the wavelength monitoring scheme (see
) so that the output signal wavelength closely matches the
wavelength setting. The message
Moving…
is displayed at the front-panel
indicator until the output wavelength has reached the target value and has
stabilized within wavemeter accuracy.
To compensate for possible disturbance such as accidental vibrations, shocks,
temperature drifts, and possible malfunction of the wavemeter, the
TUNICS T100S-HP performs the wavelength monitoring scheme with a 4
-
second
periodicity.
•
The TUNICS T100S-HP front-panel display shows the tunable laser operating
wavelength, alternating with the
l FEEDBACK:ON
message to indicate that the
"active wavelength monitoring" is currently on.
If the active wavelength monitoring does not work properly, the
λ
FEEDBACK:ERR
message appears, alternating with the tunable laser operating wavelength.
6.
To turn off the active wavelength monitoring, press the
2nd
+
mW/dBm
again.
The message
FEEDBACK:OFF
displays once then goes off.
