CLEANING THE AIR FILTER ELEMENT/CHECKING

 THE CARBURETOR JOINTS AND INTAKE MANIFOLDS

NOTE:

7. Install:

air filter element

air filter case cover

Never operate the engine without the air fil-
ter element installed. Unfiltered air will
cause rapid wear of engine parts and may
damage the engine. Operating the engine
without the air filter element will also affect
the carburetor tuning, leading to poor en-
gine performance and possible overheat-
ing.

Make sure that the air filter element is properly
installed in the air filter case.

Make sure that the air filter is installed with its
mesh side facing towards the rear of the mo-
torcycle.
