FRONT FORK INSPECTION
The front fork has a very sophisticated inter-
nal construction and is particularly sensitive
to foreign bodies.
Use enough care to prevent foreign bodies
entering when replacing oil or disassembling
and reassembling the front fork.
CAUTION:
1. Inspect:

Cap bolt (inner tube)

2. Measure:

Fork spring free length (a)

Replace.

530 mm
Inner tube bending limit:
0.2 mm
3. Inspect:
•
Inner tube surface
Score marks

Repair or replace.
Use #1.000 grit wet sandpaper.
Damaged oil seal surface
➔
Replace.

Inner tube bending
Out of specification
➔
Replace.
Use a dial gauge (1).
NOTE:
The bending value is shown by one half of the dial
gauge reading.
