ASSEMBLING THE RECOIL STARTER

CAUTION:

New spiral springs come held in a steel
hoop. To install, hook the outer end onto
the spring pin first, place into the starter
case, and then remove the steel hoop.

Starter case 

•

Thrust washer 

•

Spiral spring 

NOTE:

Hook the outer end 

 of the spiral spring

onto the spring pin attached to the starter
case, and put the spring into the starter
case by winding it counterclockwise.

WARNING

When removing or installing the spiral
spring, use care not to injure your hand. It
is advisable to wear gloves.
