Bend the lock washer tab into the pro-
peller nut groove.
6)
Shift into forward again and reset the
front propeller with the trailing edge
of the blade pointing up with the cen-
ter line of the lower case.
7)
Turn the rear propeller shaft counter-
clockwise until free play is removed.
8)
Install the rear thrust washer. Install
the rear propeller with one blade
pointing up and its trailing edge
aligned with the center line of the
lower case.
9)
Install the spacer and washer. Shift
into neutral and tighten the rear pro-
peller nut using the special wrench
with a force of 18 Kg (40 lb) which is
equivalent to the specified torque
with a conventional torque wrench.
10) Install a new cotter pin in the hole and
bend the cotter pin ends.
NOTE:
If the propeller nut does not align with the
lock washer tab or the propeller shaft hole
after tightening to the specified value,
then tighten the nut further to align it with
the tab or hole.
