C. E3 Pedal Adjustment
The E3 pedal unit is mechanically the same as that on the DU1A.
Procedures for adjusting it are the same as well.
In the Disklavier, the pedal drive unit and sensor are located in the center of the pedal
rod and a nut (B) on the topside of the drive unit is used to adjust the length of the rod.
The wing nut (A) on the pedal lever is used to adjust the bottom of the stroke of the
drive unit. The methods used for adjusting the damper pedal and the soft pedal are
different. Refer to illustration #1.

〈 LOUD PEDAL 〉
(ⅰ) Check and adjust the gap (L) to 2±0.5mm by turning the wing nut
(A) while the pedal is fully depressed.
(ⅱ) Rotate the rod adjuster (B) so that the damper felt are lifted off
to 4±1.5mm from strings.
< SOFT PEDAL >
(ⅰ) Hold and raise up the cylinder (C) until (L)=0mm lock it by pushing
the lock solenoid (D), then release the cylinder.
(ⅱ) Rotate the rod adjuster (B) so that the hammer striking distance
becomes 15mm from strings.
(ⅲ) Unlock (D) by pushing up the cylinder (C).
(ⅳ) Adjust the hammer striking distance when the pedal fully depressed
so that it becomes 25mm from strings by turning the wing nut (A).
< PEDAL MEASUREMENT >
(ⅰ) Enter the Service Center.
(ⅱ) Perform “3-1-3.Pedal Calibration”. Depress Loud/Soft pedal fully,
and push [REC] button.
(ⅲ) Perform “3-2.Pedal HP Adjust”. Adjust the mute time to 1.5 sec
by using the dial, and push [REC] button.
