CHANGING THE ENGINE OIL

b. Lubricate the O-ring

of the new oil filter

cartridge with a thin coat of lithium-soap-
based grease.

CAUTION:

Make sure that the O-ring

is positioned

correctly in the groove of the oil filter car-
tridge.

c. Tighten the new oil filter cartridge to specifi-

cation with an oil filter wrench.

• engine oil drain bolt

7. Fill:

• crankcase

(with sufficient oil to reach the specified
level)

8. Install:

• engine oil filler plug

9. Warm up the engine for a few minutes, then

stop the engine.

10.Check:

• engine

(for engine oil leaks)

• oil level

Refer to “CHECKING THE ENGINE OIL
LEVEL”.
