5. Enter a maximum Email recipients.
6. Click Update.
If the unit is connected through a dial-up modem connection, then changes to the
modem settings must be made. For more information, see
30).
7. Click Send to test the email function.
6.8.11 Set up a modem
These settings are used to connect directly to the computer and the base unit with the
modem and point-to-point protocol (PPP). The setup must be done for the unit to start a
dial-up connection. This function allows emails to receive alarm notifications.
1. Click Setup > General configuration > Modem/PPP.

2. Enter Modem settings.
a) Enter the Phone number to ISP (Internet service provider) that provides the email
service.
b) Enter the Timeout time, Modem type, and Baudrate.
A Modem init text string that starts most GSM or PSTN modems is already entered
by default. For certain types of modems, and for GPRS modems, this string must be
changed. For more information, see the Installation manual for the modem.
3. Enter PPP settings
a) Set the Gateway to the same as the IP address.
By default the PPP IP address is by default set to 192.168.48.95 and the Netmask is
set to 255.255.255.0.
b) If the ISP that provides the email service needs a login, then tick the check box Set.
c) Enter the Login user name and Login password.
d) Click Update.
e) Click Restart.
4. When a GPRS modem is used, then click Test to test the modem status.
The GPRS modem status shows the Signal status, Signal level, and Signal bit fail. The
GPRS connection is lost during the test.
5. Click Update.
