General Troubleshooting

System Start-Up and POST

System Boot Sequence

1.

When the main power switch is turned on, the health LED on the Image 
Processor Board turns on.

2.

The front panel Graphics Display is reset (addressable area turns grey).

3.

The front panel LED cycles: Green, Yellow, Red, (approximately 1/3 second 
each) and then off.

4.

The backlight is turned on (high intensity) with a nominal contrast display.

5.

The Grapics Display is turned on with all ones (black) for 1 second and then 
cleared.

6.

The backlight is turned on with nominal intensity.

7.

The Power On Self Test Vn.nn message appears and tests are quickly executed. If 
any test fails, the front panel screen freezes with the name of the test displayed 
and another line is posted: “Call Customer Service”.

8.

The Xerox “splash screen” displays on the front panel and PostScript begins 
initialization.
