Checking and replacing the dry ink waste container
Waste dry ink is transported into the sealed waste container
located in a compartment in the lower left corner at the rear of
the printer. The waste material is a mixture of black and color
toner and developer, and is not reusable.
When the dry ink waste container is approximately three
quarters full, the Attention light turns a steady yellow and the
message
DRY INK WASTE BOTTLE IS ALMOST FULL
displays on the printer console.
Replace the container as soon as possible. Once the container is
full, the printer stops and does not resume printing until the
container is replaced. The Attention light turns a modulated
yellow and the message
DRY INK WASTE CONTAINER FULL
displays on the printer console.
Replacing the 4850 dry ink waste container
NOTE: This procedure is for 4850 without TAG 112.
To replace the dry ink waste container:
1. Open the service door at the rear of the printer by grasping
the handle and pulling the door out and down.
