7.23 VoIP set sigdscp
7.23.1 Syntax
voip set sigdscp <dscp>
7.23.2 Description
This command is used to set QoS characteristics for
signalling packets. It sets the DSCP
(Differentiated Services Code Point) in the IP header. This
is a 6-bit value that is used to select the
per-hop behavior (PHB) to be applied to a signalling
packet when it is forwarded. To see the current
DSCP value for signalling packets, use the command voip
show.
To set the DSCP for RTP packets use the command voip
set rtpdscp.
For SIP, both the signalling and RTP DSCP is set from
the CLI.
For MGCP, the DSCP for RTP packets is sent from the
call agent; the value in gwprofiles.txt
is used by the call agent each time it sends a "create
connection" message. The "RTP DSCP" value
in the CLI won't be used for RTP streams created by
MGCP, it will always use the value sent from
the call agent. (For more information, refer to
Editing
GwProfiles.txt
on page 49.)
For MGCP (like SIP), the call agent can't specify the
DSCP for signalling packets, and the
"Signalling DSCP" value in the CLI is used for all MGCP
packets.
For more information about Configuring QoS support,
refer to
Configuring QoS support
on page 68.
