4.2.3 Print distance
The recommended printing distance between the media or
substrate surface and the printhead nozzle plate is shown in figure
4.4.
Greater distances will significantly reduce the print
quality of the image. The effect of
‘
satellite drop
’
formation is increased significantly at high print
distances, reducing overall print quality.
A consistent print distant must be maintained during
operation to ensure optimal print quality.

4.2.4 Angle of printhead relative to substrate
The XJ128 printhead is designed to be mounted at an angle, relative to the substrate, to achieve the
desired printing resolution. Mounting the printhead at a more acute angle results in a higher vertical
printing resolution.
