1  Basic Safety Information

This insulation-blowing machine has moving
parts and built-in electrical components. Misuse
or non-observance of safety information is a
danger to health and can lead to serious injury.

To avoid serious injury or property dam-
age, only qualified personnel who are
familiar with insulation fibre processing

and blowing machine technology should operate
the machine. Machine operators should have
successfully completed an approved insulation-
processing course before operating the machine
and before carrying out maintenance work on
the machine. They must also have received a
briefing about the operationof the machine. Fur-
thermore, the personnel must have thoroughly
read the operating instructions and must take
note of the safety information:

Read and follow the instructions in the ser-

vice and maintenance manual.

Comply with all warning and safety instruc-

tions on the machine and in the operating
manual. This operating manual contains all
the important instructions for using the ma-
chine safely.

The machine should only be operated by

qualified persons, and should only be used
for the intended purpose.

Persons in the vicinity of the machine should

take suitable precautions to protect them-
selves from dust emissions. A suitable dust
extraction system must be in place or a dust
mask must be worn.

Only connect the power supply when the

machine is fully assembled and the hopper
pieceis attached securely to the machine
base.

Disconnect the power supply before removal

of the hopper top piece and before cleaning
the machine to prevent inadvertent operation.

Only use the mains cable supplied (cross

section of 2.5 mm

²

).

Completely unroll the mains cable from the

cable reel to avoid overheating and cable
damage.

Do not reach or allow any objects to fall into

the hopper top piece or come into the vicinity
of the airlock.

Do not leave the machine unattended when

ready to operate in order to prevent improper
operationby unqualified persons or children.

Do not use the machine on wet surfaces.

Do not place the machine on an unstable

surface. Serious injury and damage to prop-
erty can result from the machine falling over.

Only operate the machine with a power supply

which is the same as that specified on the name
plate..

Ensure that the machine and especially the

hopper top piece are free from foreign objects,
for example stones, nails, contaminated insula-
tion material and packaging. Otherwise, machi-
ne parts can be damaged.

Ensure that there is an adequate fresh air sup-

ply. This will prevent damage to the air feed
blower through overheating.

Protect the machine against long, continuous

material back-up.

The machine should only be disassembled,

maintained and repaired by qualified personnel.
Opening of the switchbox and incorrect assem-
bly of the machine will increase the danger of
electric shock and other risks. .

This machine should only be used to process

certified insulation materials. Processing non-
certified insulation materials may cause inflam-
mation, electrostatic charge and other risks.

Only transport the machine as a unit, and only

using the handles provided for this purpose or
with the transport rack provided.

Check the inflated wheels on the transport rack

regularly for sufficient air pressure. .

The conveyor hose and the metal parts con-

nected to it can be charged with static electricity.
Earth these parts and when possible use anti-
static hoses to avoid the possible danger of re-
ceiving a static electric shock.

To avoid damage, only use the machine in the

specified operating temperature range.

Do not make any construction changes to the

machine. Changes could lead to safety issues
and will invalidate your guarantee.

The Health and Safety at Work Act should also

be observed to prevent accidents.

1.1  Responsibility of the contractor

The contractor should only allow people to work
with the machine who

are familiar with work safety requirements and

accident prevention and have been briefed
about handling of the machine.

have read and understood the chapter on haz-

ards and safety information in these operating
instructions, and have confirmed this with their
signature.

The personnel's understanding of the safety infor-
mation should be regularly tested and reviewed.
