10 Software
Software programming of the Wouxun radios enables additional features not available through manual keypad strokes or menus. These features may
include: mode switch password, reset password, welcome message, priority scan channel, set scanned channels, DTMF options and frequency range

The majority of user issues with radio software are related to an incorrect port (or device name) setting for the computer-radio interface cable. Linux
users must also ensure they are members of the
uucp
group.
Unlocking software requires care or you may brick the radio. Save all factory settings first by doing a “Program, Read from Radio, File, Save”. If you
do an unlock the TX range
must
match the RX range. Also be aware that the internal filters and the antenna are designed for a limited frequency
range.
