1 Applications
ESD protective measures can be tested and documented quickly and
efficiently with the METRISO
â
2000 measuring and test instrument within
your EPA (Electrostatic Protected Area).
The test instrument is especially well suited:
• For the selection of ESD materials
• For the installation of selected protective measures
• For periodic testing of protective measures
All relevant measurements in accordance with IEC 61340-5-1 / 5-2,
DIN EN 61340-5-1 and IEC 61340-4-1 can be performed with the
METRISO
â
2000 .
Included with the METRISO
â
2000 Measurement Kit (7100.2000.MK):
• High-resistance ohmmeter with integrated infrared interface
• Plug-on temperature and humidity sensor
• IR interface adapter (RS 232) with data readout software
• 2 measuring probes according to IEC 61340-4-1
• Measuring cables and conductive carrying case with dissipative foam
inserts
Stored measurement values can be uploaded to a PC for printing and
archiving via the integrated infrared interface at the METRISO
â
2000 . This
is especially important where product liability is concerned.
The following measurements and tests can be performed with the
METRISO
â
2000 :
• Resistance to ground, surface and volume resistance
(with special measuring probes)
• Insulation resistance
(with variable and rising measurement voltage)
• Temperature and relative humidity
(with included, special sensor)
• Voltage and frequency
2 Safety Features and Precautions
The METRISO
â
2000 electronic measuring and test instrument is
manufactured and tested in accordance with safety regulations
IEC/EN 61010-1/VDE 0411-1 and EN 61 557.
If used for its intended purpose, the safety of the operator and the
instrument is assured.
Read the operating instructions carefully and thoroughly before using your
instrument, and observe all instructions included therein.
The measuring and test instrument may not be used:
• If the battery compartment cover has been removed
• If external damage is apparent
• With damaged connector cables or measuring adapters
• If it no longer functions flawlessly
• After excessive stress due to transport
• After lengthy periods of storage under unfavorable conditions
(e.g. humidity, dust, extreme temperatures)
• While the batteries are being charged
