Hydraulic System

Start the engine.
You can slowly raise the engine RPM only after 5 minutes. When you raise the RPM, always
make sure that the pump does not make excessive noise.

Before putting the vehicle back in service, recalibrate the system pressures.
Hydraulic Tank
The hydraulic tank is a 60 US gallon capacity reservoir mounted to the chassis frame. It houses the
reservoir return line filter assembly as well as a suction line strainer. Fitted to the tank is a
breather
cap
13) which allows the tank to breathe as oil is drawn out of the tank. The breather
cap should be replaced once a year. A ball valve (or shut-off valve) [see Figure 7
14] is provided in the
suction line in order to isolate the tank during maintenance.

Warning!
The ball valve or shut-off valve must be fully open while you operate the hydraulic pump.
Severe damage to the pump will occur if it runs with this valve closed.
