7 Installation and electrical
connection
Safety DANGER! Risk of fatal injury!
Incorrect installation and improper electrical connections can
result in fatal injury.
• Have the electrical connections established by approved electri-
cians only, in compliance with the applicable regulations.
• Observe the accident prevention regulations!

Danger of damage due to incorrect handling.
• Have the pump installed by qualified personnel only.
7.1 Installation • Install the system in a room that provides an easy access, which is well
ventilated, frost-proof and protected against rain.
• Ensure that the system fits through the door of the technical room.
• Adequate space must be provided for maintenance work. The instal-
lation should be freely accessible from at least two sides.
• The installation surface must be even and horizontal.
7.2 Hydraulic connection • The connection of the suction and delivery manifolds can be made
either on the right or left hand sides of the installation. It is recom-
mended to close the ports which are not used with thread caps or
blind flanges.
• Valves must be fitted on the manifolds to isolate the SiFlux if required.
• The existing pipes must be installed free from stress.
• Compensators with length limiters for flexible connecting pipes are
recommended for this purpose in order to avoid stresses on the pipe
connections and minimise the transmission of installation vibrations
to the building installation.
• If the pumped fluid and pipe material cause dirt, it is obligatory to
install a strainer in front of the pump. You can also install a SiClean or
SiClean Comfort to clean the water and WEH/WEV to maintain the
pressure level.
7.3 Electrical connection

Improper electrical connections can lead to fatal electrical shocks.
• Have the electrical connection established by an electrician
approved by the local electricity supplier only, in accordance with
local regulations.
• Observe the installation and operating instructions for the acces-
sories!
To make the electrical connection, the corresponding installation and
operating instructions and attached electrical circuit diagrams must
be observed. General points to be considered are listed below:
• The type of current and voltage of the mains connection must comply
with the details on the type plate and the circuit diagram of the
switchgear.
• The electrical connecting cable must be adequately dimensioned
according to the total power of the system (see rating plate).
• As a protection measure, the system must be earthed according to
the rules (i.e according to the local regulations and circumstances).
The connections intended for this purpose are identified according
(see circuit diagram).
• The base frame has to be connected to earth by using an earth braid
linked to the frame (Fig. 2, pos. 11).
