15. MAINTENANCE
The pump does not require any special maintenance. However, after using the pump in
low-temperature areas, water in the pump body must be drained in order to prevent freez-
ing of the water, which may result in bursting of the pump body. If the pump is not used for
a long time, it should be cleaned and kept in a dry place.
16. FAULTS, CAUSES AND REMEDIES
Analysis of abnormal state of the automatic self-priming pump
Fault Cause Remedy
Pump does not start
Rust and clogging of impeller and pump
body
Remove pump body and start without load
after rust removal
Rotary shaft and bearing stuck Replace bearings
Break in the mains and secondary windings Check motor
Motor does not start, no
power supply
Main and auxiliary windings burned or
currentless
Check motor
Damage of controller
Rewiring without controller to check if the
motor is working properly
No water pumped
Pump is not rotating in the correct direction
of rotation
Check motor control
Pump is not full of water Refill the pump
Pump joint screw unlocked Tighten screw
Leakage of the whole pump
Determine whether it is a leak in the
product or not and which part of the
product is leaking through a gas or water
test etc.
Flow switch float jammed
Remove the water switch and clean up the
debris
Self-priming performance is
insufficient
High self-priming height
Check whether the self-priming height
is too high and whether the self-priming
pipeline is too long
Leakage of intake pipe or bottom valve
Check whether the pipeline and bottom
valve are properly installed
Loose screw for water intake joint Tighten screw
Leakage of the whole pump
Determine whether it is a leak in the
product or not and which part of the
product is leaking through a gas or water
test etc.
Pump shutdown
The pump delivery head is too low, lower
than the pressure switch.
Constant starting pressure
1. Check whether the parts are correct
2. Check whether the impeller is damaged
3. Check if the pump is leaking
4. Leakage in pump body
Pressure switch abnormal Replace the pressure switch
The flow switch is still under voltage when the
outlet valve is closed (normally, it should be
disconnected)
1. Remove water flow switch to clean up
debris
2. Replace flow switch
Leakage of outlet pipeline Detection of leakage in outlet pipe
