6. Commissioning, operation
Only connect components that are suitable for the maximum pressure that can be
generated by the pump. Otherwise, parts can rupture and personnel or assets can be
damaged.
6.9.1 Pressure/vacuum generation
1. Check whether the “Overpressure/Vacuum” change-over switch is set to the correct
position.
⇒
+ for overpressure operation
⇒
- for vacuum operation
2. Close the pressure relief valve
3
.
3. Turn the pump speed controller
4
clockwise until the desired pump speed is
achieved.
⇒
The further the controller is turned to the left, the faster the pressure builds up.
4. Once the desired pressure is reached, turn the pump speed controller
4
anticlockwise, back to its starting position.
⇒
The pump stops.
5. With the aid of the fine adjustment valve
1
, the set point is exactly and precisely
controlled.
⇒
Turn clockwise in order to increase the pressure.
⇒
Turn anticlockwise in order to reduce the pressure.
After increasing the pressure, the value displayed can drop slightly again for
about 30 seconds.
The causes can be thermodynamic effects, the hose connection and the
sealings.
Readjust the pressure using the fine adjustment valve
1
. If pressure
continues to drop, check the measuring circuit for leaks.
6.9.2 Reducing the pressure / vacuum
1. Carefully turn the pressure relief valve
3
anticlockwise until the desired pressure is
reached.
2. Then turn the pressure relief valve
3
clockwise until a stop is felt.
3. With the aid of the fine adjustment valve
1
, the set point is exactly and precisely
controlled.
⇒
Turn clockwise in order to increase the pressure.
⇒
Turn anticlockwise in order to reduce the pressure.
6.9.3 Venting the system
Turn the pressure relief valve
3
anticlockwise until the reference pressure sensor has
returned to a pressure-free state.
