8.4
Time zone and device name
The time zone and device name settings may be found in the
System
menu point in the
System
menu.
The factory setting for the device name (Hostname) is
wienet-AP
.
The same menu allows you to synchronize the time of the device via the NTP protocol with external time
servers or even to provide the access point itself as the NTP server for the local network.
8.5
Password and SSH access
The password for user access to the access point via the web interface can be changed under the
Administration
menu point in the
System
menu.
If you want additional access to the access point via a shell/text terminal, you can activate an entity for the SSH
server in the system in the same menu point.
To connect to the newly established access, make use of SSH-enabled terminal software (e.g. the PUTTY free
software). To log in, use the IP address of the access points, the user
root
and the password you have set on
the website. After successfully logging on, you will receive a Unix shell for the OpenWRT access point
operating system.

LAN interface
The settings for the LAN interface of the access point may be found under the
Interfaces
menu point in the
Network
menu.
Select the
Edit
button to change the basic LAN parameters.
