5.3.1. How to clamp the pipes
In case the clamping tools are shut, release the spindle nut and swivel the spindles
downwards. Then take off clamping upper parts.
Put the pipes into the reducer inserts with the same overhang of appr. 20-50 mm inwards.
Put the upper clamping tools above and clamp pipes with sp pressure discs +
clamping nuts.
You can also pull the planer between the clamping tools manually in order to
insert and align the pipes.
Drive the workpieces together with button: <
>. Align the pipe ends to each other.
In case of long pipes use WIDOS roller stands for the alignment.
Drive the tables apart with button: <
>.
5.3.2. Drag
pressure
measurement
In case you intend welding with additional cylinder you must now apply the additional
cylinder onto the clamping tools (chapter: 4.8).
Drive the tables slightly together again with button: <
> and read the
motion
pressure
from the pressure gauge.
As soon as the machine is starting to move with the pipes, the drag pressure is shown
on the pressure gauge. The drag pressure must be determined properly since a too high
pressure on small pipe diameters leads to incorrect joining forces.
Open the machine with button: <
>.
5.3.3. How to plane the pipes
Noises exceeding 80 dB (A) may occur; during planing it is obligatory to wear ear
protection!
Move the planer between the pipe ends manually.
Swing the locking bar to the right, then shift it downwards into
basic machine.
Lock the planer by turning the locking bar to the front.
In case the planer motor is not activated, please activate
(chapter: 4.5).
Switch the planer on by pressing the button <
> at the
operating device and keep the button pressed.
Drive the pipe ends towards the planer with button: <
>,
planing the pipes plane and parallel with a planing pressure
between 5 to 25 bar above the motion pressure.
