4.4. Heating
element
The heating element is surrounded by a heat protection foil out of ISOGLAS fabric on both
sides. The foil is mounted to the heating element holder. On the one hand it serves as
protection against combustion and on the other hand it helps to maintain the heating element
temperature.
The heating plate has an anti-stick coating and a PTFE plastic film is mounted above; it
facilitates the tearing-off of the heated pipes during change-over.
The heating element is driven back and forth and into welding area / initial position.
If necessary you may mount one further
(optional) heating plate to the existing one
in order to weld pipes up to OD 1600 mm.
In this case, disconnect the interfaces
from the existing heating plate and put the
plugs onto the holders.
Then mount the smaller heating plate and
connect the plugs of this heating plate to
the interfaces.
