Initial Setup and Operation
Sound Indicator Transmitter (C)
The sound indicator transmitter can either be powered by an external power mains
adaptor or a 9 V block battery. The power mains adaptor can be used with the batteries
in the unit. As long as the power mains adaptor is connected to the unit, the connection
to the batteries is automatically cut off. Set the switch (C3) to
Off
before connecting the
power mains adaptor or inserting batteries.
Operation from the Power Mains
1. The power mains adaptor must provide a regulated or unregulated 9 V DC and a
power output of at least 100 mA. Set universal adaptors to 9 volt and make sure the
polarity is correct. The correct polarity of the of the power socket (C4) is indicated
on the type label.
2. Insert the suitable low voltage plug of the power mains adaptor into the socket (C4)
on the receiver.
3. Connect the power mains adaptor to a suitable wall socket.
Inserting the Batteries
1. Open the battery compartment on the front of the unit by pressing on the battery
compartment cover (C1) on the rippled area and pulling it down off the unit to the
bottom.
2. Connect a fresh battery 6LR61 (6F22) to the battery clip. Observe correct polarity.
3. Reattach the battery compartment cover by placing it on the battery compartment
and pushing it up until it snaps into place with an audible click. If necessary press
on the rippled area to facilitate locking the cover in place.

Replace the batteries of the sound indicator transmitter when the receiver does not
pick the signals of the transmitter reliably. If necessary, also replace the batteries of
the receiver.

If you do not plan to use the Sound indicator for some time, remove the batteries.
