Frequently asked questions
No power
Ensure that the battery is installed properly.
Battery power may be weak. Recharge the
battery by using the A/C adapter.
The battery may be damaged. Replace the old
battery with a new Lithium-ion battery.
Weak reception
Press the up button (9) to increase the volume.
The received signal may be weak and/or out of
range.
Check the position of the antenna. For optimum
performance make sure the antenna is erected.
Cannot select
channels
Press the power button (3) until the channel
number blinks. Press up (9) or down (7) to se-
lect the desired channel.
The battery may be weak. Recharge the battery
if the battery charge state indicator (E) is dis-
played.
Range is limited
Range (transmitting and receiving) varies
depending on terrain and environment.
Open fields provide a maximum range while
steel/concrete structures, heavy foliage and
operation in buildings and vehicles may signifi-
cantly limit range.

performance make sure the antenna is erected.
Distorted sound
Hold the microphone 2 to 3 inches away from
your mouth and speak with “normal” volume.
When receiving, lower the volume to a comfort-
able level.
The dialogue partner must be at least at a 10
feet distance.
The distance of the communicators is too big.
