Operation
Setup – Selecting Basic Settings and Language
For the setup the unit must be connected to a power source. You can use
any USB socket of a charger or a computer or connect the unit to the
OBD
II
socket of a vehicle. Press BACK (2) and wait until the unit is ready
to operate. This may take a few seconds.
The following menus can be navigated with the UP (3) and DOWN (6)
buttons. Use ENTER (4) to select a menu option and BACK to return
to the previous menu.
1. When the main menu is displayed use the UP and DOWN buttons to
select “Tool Setup” and confirm your selection with the ENTER button.
2. Under the option “Language” you can choose between English,
German, French, Italian and Spanish. Confirming your settings with
ENTER will also bring you back to the setup menu.
3. Under the menu option “Unit of Measure” the units of measure used in
the display can be selected. The tool is pre-set to the units normally
used in Europe. Here you can change the units as desired if the ser-
vice manuals for your vehicle contain different units, as it may be the
case for e.g. American vehicles. Confirming your selection with EN-
TER will bring you back to the previous menu.
4. Under the menu option “Beeper” you can turn the unit’s beeper on and
off with the ENTER button. The BACK Button will bring you back to the
main menu.
5. Under the menu option “Time and Date” you can set time and date.
Follow the instructions displayed at the bottom of the screen.
6. Under the menu option “Record Mode” the recording function of the
unit can be turned on and off with the ENTER button. The BACK
button brings you back to the main menu.
7. Under the menu option “Floating Prompt Window” the display function
for the help texts can be turned on and off with ENTER. The BACK
button brings you back to the main menu.
Connecting the Reader
1. Connect the unit to the OBD
II
(DLC) socket in the vehicle
with the
Ignition off
. Wait for a minute until the unit is ready for use.
2. Turn ignition on but do
not
start the engine.
